Hi guys! 

I’m Lara and am happy to meet you as the treasurer😊 

I’ve loved being in the water and snorkeling all my life, and as a kid on vacation you could find me at 6 AM collecting sea-stars (don’t worry I kept them all in their habitat, just made a little zoo with them there;) They kept crawling away tho) I just love being in this whole other world and all your senses working different then above water. 

After studying social sciences for the last couple of years, I gravitated back to my love for the ocean. Now I study Aquaculture  and Marine Resource Management, specializing in Marine Animal Ecology. When I started this master, I also became part of the Seadragons to pick up diving again! I hadn’t dived in many years after getting my certificate, and it was such an amazing experience to be introduced to the underwater-world of the Netherlands. 

In my role as part of the board, my goal is to keep the association fun, affordable and welcoming. I strive to do this by running the finances smoothly and getting as many subsidies and other revenues as possible. Then we can make sure we can keep everything affordable and therefore inclusive, in addition to having nice gear for our members and organizing cool activities for free/cheap!
